6 things you must pay attention to when you want to go to Australia

1. Need an Australian visa

That's right, entering Australia requires a permit or visa as a condition for entering there. However, managing it can be difficult, meaning you have to be careful.

Now, the Australian government uses VFS agents for travelers who want to apply for an Australian visa. But, compared to Schengen countries or the United Kingdom, travelers don't need to bother with interviews. Just enter the requirements and documents needed, they can be sent via courier or come directly.

Generally, making a visa takes 2 weeks. But, sometimes it can be faster. As long as the traveler provides convincing supporting documents and all requirements are filled in honestly and correctly, there is no problem.

2. Savings requirements

Well, this is a rumor that is widely circulating when applying for an Australian visa. Is it true that you have to have tens or even hundreds of millions?

The answer is, there is no definite amount that guarantees you can enter Australian territory. In contrast to its neighboring countries, New Zealand provides the official amount that must be prepared to enter the country.

However, to minimize visa rejection, provide a bank statement or other financial proof that can guarantee the traveler. For example, there is not a very large amount of money coming into the account compared to previous times.

Apart from that, also attach a work certificate, salary slip, or other letter that can guarantee that the traveler will return to Indonesia when the holiday visit is over. In fact, the Australian government just wants to reassure you that you will not be stranded and do not intend to look for work in Australia.

3. Pay close attention to your belongings

Australian immigration authorities are very strict about travelers' luggage. Especially, if it is related to products that contain milk or are related to agriculture.

Travelers must declare or report to local customs authorities if they bring vegetables, fresh fruit, raw or processed meat. Including, shoes or clothes brought in dirty conditions.

Likewise when carrying cigarettes and alcohol. Travelers who will bring cigarettes are limited to only 25 cigarettes, or one open pack and one unopened pack. If there is more, you may be subject to entry tax, and all cigarettes brought will be counted, not just 25 cigarettes.

4. Prepare an itinerary long before leaving

Even if you want to go suddenly, make a picture or picture of the various places you want to visit. Because, this is also needed to make a visa in advance. Apart from that, it will also be easier for travelers to explore places in Australia.

Also make a budget while there. Different cities, the cost of living is also different, even if only slightly. To be safe, when on holiday budget AUD 100 per day multiplied by how long the traveler will be traveling in Australia.

5. Fill out the Immigration Card honestly

Well, sometimes there are people who like to underestimate the arrival card they are given. IN Australia, travelers are really obliged to pay attention to the contents and belongings of their luggage.

If you bring one of the items in question, the traveler must declare it. If in doubt, it is best for travelers to tick the 'yes' column. Because, if not, customs will impose a fine for whatever reason, which can range from hundreds of Australian dollars.

6. Pay attention to the seasons

The seasons in Oceania, aka the southern hemisphere, are the opposite of those in Europe and Asia. While it's winter in Europe, it's summer in Australia.

It's a good idea to first check the weather conditions in the place where the traveler will be traveling. Don't make the wrong costume, it's not only not cool but it's also going to be a hassle for you, you know.
